Dr Dilip Kumar Khare

Technical Advisor and Founding Director, WBA India

Dr Dilip Kumar Khare is Technical Advisor and Founding Director of WBA India, where he provides strategic and technical guidance to advance the World Biogas Association’s mission to accelerate biogas development across India.

He previously served as Advisor in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, for more than three decades, where he played a key role in formulating national policies and programmes to promote biomass and bioenergy-based energy solutions, including the production of gaseous fuels such as BioCNG (compressed biogas, biomethane) and Green Hydrogen from organic waste streams.

Dr Khare has also served as Senior Advisor for Biomass and Bioenergy with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) India, supporting the design and implementation of initiatives focused on BioCNG production from agricultural, forestry and municipal waste.
