Dr. Debajit Palit

Centre Head, Climate Change & Energy Transition

Dr. Debajit Palit is heading the Centre for Climate Change & Energy Transition at Chintan Research Foundation, an independent not-for-profit think tank based in New Delhi. He is a researcher, practitioner, author, editor, and trainer, and brings around 30 years of expertise across renewable energy, including solar PV, biogas, clean energy access, micro-grids, energy transition, climate action, and the energy-livelihood gender nexus. Dr. Palit possesses vast national and international experiences, working in projects across 17 countries in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. He is a prolific writer and has published 3 books and around 150 research papers in scholarly journals, conference proceedings, and books, among others. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Policy, a Post Graduate Diploma in Non-Conventional Energy Technology and a Master’s degree in Physics.
