Mr Mohit Verma
Joint Director, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India
Mr Mohit Verma is an Indian Economic Service (IES) officer from the 2014 batch and currently serves as Joint Director in the Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. He has over a decade of experience across public policy, economic affairs, rural development, international relations and financial regulation, having worked with the Ministries of Rural Development, Finance and External Affairs.
In his current role, Mr Verma works across water-sector policy and planning and designed the State Water Reforms Framework (SWRF) for assessing the performance of States and Union Territories. His work also extends to clean energy and climate finance, including a 2026 policy paper, “CBG & the Carbon Credit Markets: An Integrated Framework for Energy Self-Reliance and Climate Finance,” submitted to the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council. Mr Verma holds a Master’s in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi.
