Mr Ashu Shinghal

Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited

Mr Ashu Shinghal, Executive Director, GAIL, is currently spearheading Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) and SBU-Unison as Managing Director. He is also the Chairman of the joint venture companies – Mahanagar LNG Private Limited and International Battery Company India Private Limited (IBC).

Mr Shinghal is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from NIT Silchar and also holds a master’s degree in Business Administration with specialisation in Operations Management. Before joining MGL, he headed Corporate Strategy, Planning and Advocacy, Total Quality Management and Sustainable Development at GAIL, while also serving as Chief Risk Officer. He was additionally a Director on the Boards of ONGC Petro Additions Ltd and Talcher Fertiliser Ltd.

Mr Shinghal has more than 33 years’ rich experience in the hydrocarbon sector, covering diverse functional areas including corporate strategy, large-scale project execution – notably cross-country gas pipelines, petrochemicals and LNG.
