Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) is one of India’s leading natural gas distribution companies. Established on 8th May, 1995, it has GAIL (India) Ltd. as its promoter. MGL has to its credit the distinction of pioneering the Natural Gas distribution network in the Metropolis of Mumbai and its neighboring areas. MGL’s vision envisages being consumer and environment friendly gas company providing safe, efficient and reliable energy, an employer of choice creating value for all its stakeholders. MGL is an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified organization and its City Gas Distribution (CGD) network is designed, maintained and operated by in-house competent resources as per world class technical and safety standards for catering to its ever-increasing consumer base.

MGL has laid down a network of over 8,000 Kms of Steel and MDPE gas pipeline network fed through five strategically located City Gate Stations. Currently, MGL is supplying PNG and CNG to more than 41 lakh consumers, out of which PNG is supplied to more than 29 lakh households and small industrial and commercial establishments and CNG to over 12 lakh vehicles. CNG is dispensed through its network of over 475 CNG stations in its present areas of operations of in and around Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Latur & Osmanabad in Maharashtra and Chitradurg & Davangere in Karnataka.

The Company is well equipped for efficient distribution of natural gas across the city. It has a robust distribution system supported by ERP-SAP, ensuring reliable operations for its customers. It has implemented GIS mapping of its entire network for efficient control and monitoring. With the belief that outstanding business performance requires outstanding HSE performance, MGL ensures high standards in the protection of the health and safety of life, property and the environment.

For a more customer centric approach, various touchpoints such as walk-in centers, dedicated customer care numbers, Whatsapp, webmail, social media presence, mobile app ‘MGL Connect’ have been made available for the customers.

MGL being a responsible corporate, has been contributing towards social investments and has partnered with various social institutions for welfare of the community at large. MGL through its community outreach programmes and initiatives continues to contribute and focus on Education, Health, Empowerment and Environment thereby fostering the philosophy of taking care of the community for a sustainable tomorrow.
