Good news for biogas in Malaysia

WBA understands that Malaysia is set to remove incentives for production of diesel, which would help to create a more level playing field for other fuel types such as biogas, save the taxpayer money, and reduce Malaysia’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Electricity produced through AD benefits from a Feed-In Tariff in Malaysia, and this is due to be extended for a further 30 MW.

WBA member DMT-Environmental Technology has been campaigning for biomethane to receive the same incentive levels as diesel in Malaysia and discussed the issue with the Malaysian Minister for Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change at IGEM in Kuala Lumpur this week. DMT also represented WBA at the event and kindly presented on our behalf.
