To be held alongside high-level G20 meetings hosted by the G20 Presidency of Brazil, the World Biogas BRAZIL Congress will bring together stakeholders from across Brazil’s bioenergy sectors to explore strategies to maximise the country’s bioenergy potential, focusing on the role of biogas in creating a resilient and sustainable economy and offer a model for other emerging economies to follow. The event will showcase innovations, promote collaboration and stimulate investment to support broader bioenergy and net zero targets.
The World Biogas Association BRAZIL Congress represents the first opportunity for stakeholders to gain insight into the emerging policy and regulatory challenges, finance and investment opportunities, and how to solve feedstock challenges and create revenue streams from biogas co-products, such as digestate and bioCO2. It will also look at integration with the production of green biofuels and hydrogen.
The World Biogas Association BRAZIL Congress will coincide with key energy meetings of the G20 taking place in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, in September and October 2024:

- Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting
WBA has recently announced two key position papers on solid waste management have been published by the G20 Policy Hub ahead of the G20 meetings in Brazil and the World Biogas Association BRAZIL Congress. As the G20 represents the world’s major economies, the papers are positioned to influence international policy, driving forward the adoption of sustainable waste management practices and enhancing global efforts to combat climate change
