Mr Sankalp Purwar

Chief Business Officer, CIPD India

Sankalp Purwar works on climate and energy transition, with a focus on what it takes to make it work on the ground. 

He is currently Chief Business Officer at the Centre for Research and Implementation for Decarbonisation (CRID), where he leads work on industrial decarbonization and agri-tech innovations, from identifying opportunities to building and executing solutions. 

Previously, Sankalp headed the Energy and Environment Department at ISMA, India’s largest biofuel consortium, leading the transformation of sugar mills into integrated biorefineries and promoting climate-aligned agricultural practices impacting over 55 million farmers.  

He has participated in and led discussions at global platforms such as the Clean Energy Ministerial, BRICS forums, and COP processes, and is an Environmental Engineering graduate from Delhi Technological University.
