Mr Velmurugan

Executive Director (R&D), CEID Consultants & Engineering

Velmurugan is a Chemical Engineer (M.Tech) with over 22 years of experience in bioenergy, biomethanation, waste-to-energy systems, and renewable energy process development.

He currently serves as Executive Director (R&D) at CEID Consultants & Engineering Pvt. Ltd., previously working as Principal Scientist and Senior Scientist at SPRERI, Gujarat, and as Research Fellow at CLRI, Chennai.

He has led 14+ funded R&D projects, managed technology scale-ups, and executed industrial bio-methanation solutions across agri-residue, dairy waste, potato processing, kitchen waste, and lignocellulosic biomass sectors.

Velmurugan has authored 30+ research publications, holds two patents, and has delivered numerous national training programmes and workshops on bioenergy.

He has received multiple recognitions including a Government of India research committee appointment (2019), the IDA Best Research Article Award (2019), and international research grant support (Netherlands, 2008). With a strong foundation in anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, PSA systems, and high-solids fermentation technologies, he contributes significantly to renewable energy implementation in India’s dairy and agro-waste sectors.
