Lesaffre Joins the World Biogas Association to Accelerate Carbon Reduction Efforts
Lesaffre, a key global player in the field of fermentation and microorganisms, today announced that it has joined the World Biogas Association (WBA), the global trade association for the biogas, landfill gas and anaerobic digestion industries.
The decision to join WBA aligns with Lesaffre’s commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. As a company that already operates biogas units in several of its manufacturing facilities around the world, Lesaffre recognizes the important role that biogas can play in the transition to a low-carbon economy. Several Lesaffre business units will benefit from this partnership, including Phileo by Lesaffre and Leaf by Lesaffre.
Joining the World Biogas Association is a natural step for Lesaffre as we continue to explore ways to minimize our environmental impact and support the growth of renewable energy solutions,” said Gildas Joalland, Strategy & Partnership Director Phileo. “By collaborating with industry peers through WBA, we aim to share best practices, drive innovation, and contribute to the global effort to mitigate climate change.”
Through its membership, Lesaffre will have the opportunity to engage with other biogas industry leaders, participate in policy discussions, and access the latest market intelligence and technical resources provided by WBA. This will help the company further optimize its own biogas operations and “we are convinced that Lesaffre can also support the biogas market development with its experience in microorganism reaching a better biogas efficiency.”
We are delighted to welcome Lesaffre as a member of the World Biogas Association,” said Charlotte Morton OBE, WBA Chief Executive. “As a global leader in yeast and fermentation, Lesaffre’s expertise and commitment to sustainability will be invaluable as we work together to promote the widespread adoption of biogas and anaerobic digestion technologies worldwide.”
