Executive summary
The IMO’s negotiations on its Net-Zero Framework (NZF), crucial to unlocking a significant maritime market for biomethane and Bio-LNG, moved forward at the 1-4 September 2026 meeting of the Intersessional Working Group on GHG Emissions from Ships (ISWG-GHG 22), but several issues that are critical to the commercial case for renewable fuels remain unresolved.
