Agricultural biogas plant – Michigan

Deployment / application site
- Michigan, USA
- Client: SKS Green
- 2022 and 2024
Overview of the case study
RNG production site servicing a farm of more than 10,000 cattle, with four 3,000,000-gallon (11,000 m³) anaerobic digester tanks, storing a total of 12,000,000 gallons (44,000 m³) of digestate.
Description of solution or innovation
The modular design of the tanks allows quick and easy construction, while providing excellent corrosion resistance through a fusion-bonded epoxy coating on the panels. The pre-engineered kits are supplied in modular form, making them ideal for shipping to remote locations.
Technical specifications
Each digester is 107 ft (33 m) in diameter and 48 ft (15 m) high, with a fixed steel roof operating at 12 in (30 mbar) pressure.
Future potential or plans
Balmoral Tanks are currently constructing an identical plant in Idaho, comprising six 3,000,000-gallon (11,000 m³) anaerobic digesters.
