REN21 publishes new global renewables report

REN21, the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century, has published its Renewables 2018 Global Status Report, which presents the latest overarching trends and developments in renewable energy developments around the world.

The report notes impressive progress in decarbonisation of the power sector worldwide but points out the need for urgent action on renewable heat and transport, which are lagging behind by comparison. Biomethane produced through anaerobic digestion can of course make a huge contribution to decarbonising heat and transport around the world. We’ll be discussing this further at UK AD & World Biogas Expo 2018 on 11th-12th July in Birmingham, UK.
